The Laughing Buddhas in My Life

Everyday, at the end of my practice, I chant the closing prayer and then I give thanks for my life and my health. Next I give gratitude to my mother, father, sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephews, grandmother, Jimmy, Duke, my teachers Radha and Prem, and to all my friends, relatives, and students. Each person I offer my gratitude to, I picture their face in my mind. Usually it’s a neutral expression. But today, I imagined my mother giving a silly face, then my dad, sis, brother-in-law, the kids…they were all laughing and happy…even Duke was laughing in his husky voice (if dogs could laugh). It started to make me happy and I started laughing. It was very funny. Needless to say, my practice ended in a very joyous way.
